The Caring System of Our Church

The Caring System of Our Church

The Caring System of Our Church

Revised by Rev. Tay Piak Kheng on 26 July 2026

Church life is an outstanding feature of our faith. This is because the church is the household of God and a community of the covenantal people. Children of believers live under the care of the community. Thus, community care is the fabric of church life. The closely knitted church life of the early church was a beautiful testimony of the Gospel:

Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:46,47)

Our church has set in place three levels of community caring. The first level is District Care, which maintains contact and fosters support in daily life for people who live in the same neighbourhood. Next is the Fellowship Group Care, which provides support and edification in the various stages of life. Last but not least is the pastoral care and spiritual guidance. This system will ensure that every believer receives the care he needs to grow in faith and good works.

Each fellowship group has an overseeing elder. They are:

Children and Toddlers – Rev. Tay

Young People – Sis Li Huan

Young Adult – Bro Luo Wenqiang

Young Family – Bro Jonathan Loo

Adult  –  Bro Wang Yadong

Elderly  –  Rev. Tay

Every believer in the church belongs to a fellowship group, from which he can receive guidance and support from the elder, deacon, ministry leaders and members of the fellowship. Believers without a fellowship life are likened to a piece of charcoal taken out of a pile of red heated coal. Left alone, it will lose its heat and will soon turn cold (Heb 10:25). Therefore, the church strongly encourages you to join your fellowship group and participate actively.

The updated District List has been put on the Noticeboard. Believers who have been joining our Sunday service regularly in the past three months should have their names on it. If you have not been contacted by your district leaders next week, please contact them directly.

Believers are a royal priesthood of God and stewards in God’s household in the NT.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. (Php 2:3,4)

Caring for others is not part of our fallen nature. But it is the godly nature that God shares with us through the regeneration of the Holy Spirit. Let every believer take initiative to look out for one another in the district, grow in the knowledge of Christ in the fellowship, and be a good builder in the church. May the Holy Spirit that dwells among us beget in us sincere love for one another and devotion to the teachings of the bible. May we emit the aroma of Christ just like the early church, gaining the admiration and favour of the people around us. May the Lord add to us weekly those who belong to Him!
