A Simpler WBS! This is an overview of the Old Testament stories. Many of us know Bible stories from listening to sermons and attending Sunday School, but we don’t know how they fit into a timeline or the bigger story God is trying to reveal to us. OTlive and NTlive help us see how the Old Testament connects to the New Testament, showing how God’s creation leads to Christ himself. We can view this as a much simpler version of the WBS that offers an overview of God’s salvation work in the Bible.
Fun learning! This course uses hand signs and body movements to help us remember the biblical storyline. For example, King Saul has “no heart”, King David has a “whole heart”, and King Solomon has a “half heart”. We experienced the powerful impact of learning Bible stories with hand signs and movement from Ps Jim Yost earlier. This course engages our body and mind even more fully.
English only for now! For this reason, this course is not suitable for bilingual teaching. We have decided to go ahead with an English session, and if feedback is good, we will arrange a Chinese session on a later date.
A family afternoon! I am very glad to learn that this course is also suitable for young people in Secondary schools. Thus, it is an excellent opportunity for the whole Christian family to learn the Bible together. Parents are encouraged to sign up with their teenage children.
Young People, you have a subsidy! To encourage participation from our younger generation, the church will subsidise every young student in Secondary Four and below. They will only need to pay $10. Simply skip one McDonald’s breakfast meal and exchange it for an exercise of godliness that yields value for this life and the life to come! (1Timothy 4:8)
