Sunday School Learning from the Book of Isaiah
Sunday School 31 May 2026
God told everyone what Christ would do. Although what He said sounded impossible, it all happened to Jesus. This made me understand that God does not lie, and what He says will come true. Sometimes I feel like God isn’t there to help me. For example, once before an exam, I prayed to God that I would do well. After praying, I felt peace and felt that God would help me. During the exam, the questions were a bit difficult, and I felt that I couldn’t possibly get a good score. At that moment, I thought God wasn’t helping me. In the end, although my score wasn’t very high, I found out that I was actually ranked quite well among all students. This experience taught me that praying to God gives me peace and helps me do better, so I don’t need to worry.

I am happy that I can share what I learnt from the book of Isaiah! In Isaiah 17:7, “In that day men will look to their Maker and turn their eyes to the Holy One of Israel.” This tells me that one day the Holy God will come to our world and all men will turn to Him. Then, Isaiah 25:8 says, “He will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces; He will remove the disgrace of His people from all the earth.” This verse tells me that once Jesus comes back, death will not exist anymore, so there will be no more crying and sadness in our lives. Those who are dead will come back to life and pray to God. At first, I was worried that when God comes, I would not be able to go with Him because I am already dead. But when I saw this verse, I did not worry anymore because coming back to life is actually very cool! Thank you for reading. I worked very hard on it. I hope my sharing gives confidence to whoever reads this to go and share what you have learnt from the bible.

The verse that I’m going to share today is Isaiah 17:7: “In that day, men will look to their Maker, and turn their eyes to the Holy One of Israel.” I chose this verse because our pastor told my class about a very interesting story. On that day when Lord Jesus comes again, the one who doesn’t believe in him will cry, and the one who believes in him will also cry. The one who believes in him will cry because of happiness, and the one who doesn’t believe in him will cry because of regret. Then I ask, why might Lord Jesus just tell us how many days are left before he comes? Then our pastor replied, for example, if Jesus said 100 days later he will come, some people may think, “Ah, Jesus is coming in 100 days, then 98 days I won’t believe in him. Then on the 99th day, I’ll believe in him, then I can still go to heaven.” But Lord Jesus wants us to know him without seeing him. But Lord Jesus will show us because he knows that sometimes it’s hard to believe in him without seeing him.
