A Letter to Little Olive Tree Woodlands
23 November 2025
Dear Pastor of the hosting church of Little Olive Tree
I hope this email finds you well.
I am Mary (not her true name), a parent of two children from Little Olive Tree, Woodlands. I would like to thank Woodlands Evangelical Free Church and the staff for playing such a tremendous role in my firstborn son’s learning and development as he went to school there for the past two years. My daughter was enrolled in the school in September this year and thankfully, she settled in well after two weeks of adjustment. They are now three years old and one year old respectively.
Two years ago, my little family moved to Woodlands. My husband and I were looking for a school which provided infant care services for our son. It took us a while to look around the different schools within the vicinity of our home as we value convenience but most importantly, curriculum that aligns with our values. Even so, we somehow still did not feel confident going ahead with any of the options that were on our minds at that time. One day, my mother-in-law told me that she heard there was a new childcare centre called Little Olive Tree in your church. That piqued my interest and without much consideration, I decided to indicate my interest to enrol my son there.
He was there since he was 11 months old. Going from infant care to pre-nursery class now, I have seen how much he has grown through the faith-based curriculum that anchors itself in the truth, beauty and goodness of God. He would come home telling me bible stories and enjoy sharing the bible storybooks with me. As a believer of Christ, we were delighted to have found such a school and there is nothing more crucial and important to us than to have our children taught and live out God’s truth.
I am also heartened to know that the teachers, who have the privilege of working at LOT Woodlands, are also nurtured and cared for as a person and a professional through the meaningful events and training they attend. With filling their tanks, they can continue to pour into the lives of the children. As a parent, it gives me great peace to know that my children are loved and in safe hands when they are under the care of such teachers. I strongly believe the atmosphere has an important role to play in a child’s education which can comprise the physical environment and the people that interact with them. I personally am so grateful that LOT Woodlands ticked all the boxes for my children.
Every day, I look forward to picking my children up after work as well. Whenever I pick them up, a sight I love is when I see families of different racial and religious backgrounds gather at the school door with their children. Isn’t it an amazing sight to see these people in church too? Usually, one who isn’t a believer would not have a good reason to step into a church premise, unless it is for special reasons like a wedding or important ceremony of a loved one. But to have all these families come to your church premises daily, I believe seeds are planted in their lives, at least through their children. I see WEFC as a beacon of light for these families who have chosen to entrust their children to the care of the teachers, the faith-based curriculum and this beautiful school environment. It is just so powerful that these children, whether they come from Christian homes or not, come to know of His truth and carry it into their homes. Reading the school’s outstanding Google reviews, I believe all the positive reviews came from every grateful parent who has found LOT Woodlands a good choice for their children. It is truly a testament to everyone’s effort which has made LOT Woodlands what it is today.
Having said all these, I would like to thank WEFC for providing not only my children but many others with such a beautiful, rich and conducive learning environment. It was a safe second home for the teachers and children, who spent most of their time daily at, to learn and grow. WEFC was also a beacon of light for the families in this neighbourhood whose lives had been touched and enriched through their experiences there.
Thank you for reading my letter of gratitude. May God continue to provide for the restoration for your church and may the process be a smooth and timely one.
God bless,
Mary
Hi Mary,
Thanks for your kind letter and we’re so glad that LOT has blessed your children and your family. Woodlands EFC is privileged to host LOT and to have some of our volunteers assist in telling Bible stories to the children. But the church doing the main work of running LOT is Truth Baptist Church. The principal and some of the staff are themselves from the church, and many others are supporting LOT behind the scenes with their finances, manpower & much prayer. I myself have been very moved by their commitment to God’s call to serve the families & children of preschool age. I will forward your very encouraging email to them.
Thank you for taking the time to write such an encouraging email. Thank you for praying for us too.
May God continue to bless you and your family and equip you to guide your son & daughter to grow up to love the Lord our God with all their heart, mind and soul. May they serve Him only with all the gifts & resources that He has blessed them with.
Blessings,
Pastor of hosting church
